Support Maryland’s Living Donor Protection Act

Please take a moment as you write your legislators to personalize your email to them. It makes a huge difference when you add your story! Thank you!

While Valentine’s Day may be behind us, this doesn’t mean we should stop showing our love to those who are truly deserving.  During February, Delegate Eric Luedtke and Senator Brian Feldman introduced the Living Donor Protection Act (HB 1284/SB 705) in Maryland’s state legislature to help living organ donors, people we consider heroes.

This bill would ensure that life, long-term care and disability insurers will not discriminate against living organ donors through policy conditions, acceptance, or pricing based solely on the person’s status as a living organ donor.  It also provides certain employees up to 60 days of unpaid leave for living organ donation.

The National Kidney Foundation, Delegate Eric Luedtke, Senator Brian Feldman, organ donors and kidney patients across the state need you to help us make this bill a reality.  Please write your state legislators and ask them to support legislation to protect organ donors.
